Usual ICICI Bank EMI rates (indicative)
ICICI Bank's public home-loan interest-rate page publishes standard floating slabs by loan amount for salaried and self-employed borrowers: 8.75% to 10.05% depending on slab and segment, with validity dates printed on the page. Pre-approved home loans are marketed from 7.55% p.a. for eligible customers; that is not the same as every standard sanction.
The same page notes the RBI policy repo rate (5.50%, effective 8 October 2026); after RBI's 7 October hike ICICI lifted its standard slabs by 0.25%. Fixed-rate windows of 24 to 120 months price at 8.90% to 10.85%, and full-term fixed rates reach 11.20%. New-car loans over 36 months start from 8.40% (from 10.25% under 36 months). Personal loans run about 9.99% to 16.50%, and education loans about 8.50% to 13.00%.
This tool is lender-agnostic math with ICICI-typical defaults. Replace the rate with your written offer, then stress a floating reset before you choose tenure.
Once credit, LTV, and loan amount are applied, private-bank standard slabs often land in the mid-to-high 8%s while public-sector cards stay in the 7%s for strong scores. Car loans commonly price above housing. Unsecured personal loans sit higher still and widen sharply with credit score and employer category. Education loans depend heavily on the institute and on collateral.
Under RBI external-benchmark rules, many floating retail loans reset when the policy repo moves. Your customer rate is typically benchmark + spread, which is why two applicants at the same bank can see different EMIs on the same loan amount.
Public rate cards are not a sanction. Replace the calculator default with the Key Facts Statement or sanction letter rate, then stress +0.5% to +1% before you lock tenure.
Compare identical principal and months across banks, include documented fees in total outflow, and confirm prepayment and foreclosure language on the letter before you pay processing charges.
Usual ICICI EMI rate bands
Indicative retail ranges for planning. Your sanction rate depends on credit profile, loan size, tenure, and product rules. These are not live ICICI quotes.

ICICI complaints record
What ICICI reported in the complaints disclosure RBI requires in every annual report. These are the lenders' own audited figures, not reviews. RBI's ombudsman report gives totals by bank group only, so this is the one public count per lender.
| FY 2025-26 | ICICI |
|---|---|
| Complaints received | 5,59,221 (+5%) |
| Escalated to the RBI Ombudsman | 15,782 (+23%) |
| About loans and advances | 32,148 (+6%) |
Change is against the year before. Bigger lenders log more complaints because they have more customers, and each lender counts slightly differently. ICICI leaves out complaints redressed within one working day. Read the trend and the ombudsman share rather than ranking banks on the raw count. What borrowers report
Public signals only, each linked to where it comes from. App ratings rate the app, which most people use for payments and savings, so they say little about the loan unless the app is the loan's own.

ICICI: recurring themes
- Complaint: Original property documents returned late, or lost, after the loan is closed. Consumer commissions have ordered ICICI to pay compensation in such cases. (Moneylife (NCDRC ruling), LiveLaw (Bangalore commission))
A theme is listed only when we found it in more than one independent place: consumer-court rulings, news reports or complaint forums. Forums draw people with a grievance, so read these as risks to check on your sanction letter, not as a verdict on the lender.
Key takeaways
- Use ICICI's published slab table for planning; treat the 7.55% pre-approved rate as offer-specific, not universal.
- Compare ICICI with another bank on identical principal and months so EMI rank order is fair.
- Car and personal loan EMIs need their own rate bands; housing defaults are the wrong anchor.
- Early prepayment on a long ICICI floating home loan usually saves more interest than the same cash later.
Worked example: ₹ 50,00,000 at 9% for 20 years
EMI ≈ ₹ 44,986. Over 240 months you would pay about ₹ 1,07,96,711 in total, of which roughly ₹ 57,96,711 is interest if you make no prepayments and the rate stays constant. Raise the rate toward the top of the usual ICICI home band (7.55% to 10.05%), or add a lump sum under Prepayments, to see how much the total interest changes. Then replace the rate with the figure on your sanction letter.
Formula: Same reducing-balance EMI formula banks use: E = P × r × (1+r)^n ÷ ((1+r)^n - 1), with r as monthly rate and n as months. Property taxes and insurance are not included in EMI unless you add them separately.
